One year of Yoga in the Cabin 🥳

This week marks one whole year of Yoga in the Cabin and honestly, it’s hard to put into words how much this little space — and the people in it — have come to mean to me.

The very first class was on 13th May last year. I remember feeling so nervous. I had only just qualified and completed my 200-hour teacher training and suddenly it was real — people were actually going to turn up and trust me to guide them through a class! I started with just one Tuesday evening drop-in class and a 6-week beginners course, hoping quietly in the background that maybe it could become something more.

What I didn’t know then was that some of those very first people through the door would still be here a year later, showing up week after week, becoming such a huge part of the cabin community. Thank you never really feels enough for the support, encouragement and trust you’ve given me from the very beginning.

Slowly, things grew. More flow classes were added until somehow there are now seven flow classes running each week. In December, I made the slightly scary decision to leave my desk job behind and see what could happen if I gave yoga my full attention and energy. It felt like a huge leap at the time, but looking back now, I know it was exactly the right decision.

Then in February 2026, I completed my Yin training and added a Yin class — quickly followed by a second one not long after. Yin has brought such a different energy to the cabin and I’ve loved watching people connect with the quieter, slower side of the practice too.

Today there are now nine classes running each week alongside continuous 6-week beginners courses, and over 200 people have walked through the cabin doors! Some came for a short season, some drop in whenever life allows, and some have been there every single week. Every single person has played a role in shaping what the cabin has become.

What’s struck me most over this last year is not just the growth of the classes, but the people themselves. I genuinely could not have asked for kinder, warmer or more supportive humans to walk through that door. The cabin has never just been about yoga postures. It’s become a space for conversations, laughter, encouragement, friendship, challenge, rest, breath and connection — and that exists because of the people inside it.

Without all of you, this simply would not have happened.

So whether you came once, come occasionally, or have barely missed a week, thank you for being part of this first year. Thank you for supporting a newly-qualified teacher who was nervously hoping people might turn up to that very first Tuesday class. Yoga in the Cabin has grown far beyond anything I imagined it might become and I feel incredibly lucky to do this work and share the space with you all.

Here’s to year two 🥳

See you soon in the cabin!
